The Buzz Project
A significant strength of St. Mary's Catholic Primary School is our involvement in a Transition Project with Year 6 and Year 7 pupils, specifically the Buzz Project devised by David Hodgson through North East Ambition. This project focuses on personality types, providing a unique approach to career and personal development.
By concentrating on personality rather than solely on skills and knowledge, we foster a deeper understanding of each pupil's values, beliefs, identity, and potential. While skills and knowledge are important and need regular updating throughout our lives, choosing a course or career based solely on these factors overlooks critical aspects of what makes us human.
The Buzz Project uses the concept of personality animals to help pupils explore these deeper elements. This method allows pupils to gain insight into their intrinsic qualities and future aspirations, providing a more holistic view of their potential and guiding them in making more informed and fulfilling career choices.
