Our Commitment to the Environment at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School
At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, the environment is one of our core values, and we are deeply committed to fostering a sense of responsibility and stewardship in our pupils. We are proud to have held the Eco-Schools Green Flag award for the last six years, a testament to our dedication to sustainability and environmental awareness.
The importance of caring for our environment is woven throughout our curriculum, ensuring that pupils learn about sustainability, conservation, and the impact of their actions on the world around them. Beyond classroom learning, we actively engage our pupils in hands-on activities that promote environmental stewardship.
We have established a School Action Team, which plays a vital role in our environmental initiatives. This team consists of representatives from each class across the school, providing a voice for all pupils in our efforts to protect and enhance our surroundings. The Action Team meets monthly to plan and deliver various initiatives, both within the school and in the local community, encouraging everyone to participate in making a positive difference.
Through these efforts, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School aims to nurture a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who are committed to caring for the Earth and promoting sustainable practices in their everyday lives.
